Job Description

An innovative recycling plant located on the Dolphin Coast, KZN, is seeking a local Warehouse Manager to play a pivotal role in their journey into the African recycling market. The plant has a total output of 35,000 tonnes of recycled PET material and needs for this an input of 50,000 tonnes of PET bottle bales.

 

Educational Background:

  • Min 10 years'+ logistics experience in an international manufacturing company, preferably in plastic recycling, plastic industry or food packaging
  • 3 years bachelor's degree/Diploma (Associates) in related field or equivalent hands-on experience
  • Familiar in working with ERP systems, preferred Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365)
  • Proven track of leadership experience and ability to train and develop the production team of over 15 employees.
  • Certified Forklift Driver
  • Experience in import/export handling
  • Excellent analyzation skills and strive for improvement.
  • Deep understanding of production performance metrics, 5S and Health & Safety practices
  • Professionalism and dedication to excellence in customer care
  • Ability to work independently to tight deadlines and proactive in solving problems.
  • Willingness to work in a challenging environment.
  • Proficiency in English and Zulu language as well as strong interpersonal skills

 

Tasks & responsibilities:

  • Inbound logistics: Organizing deliveries from suppliers and storing raw materials.
  • Outbound logistics: Preparing deliveries based on sales orders and ensuring timely arrival at customer destinations.
  • Side stream management: Disposal or sale of side streams with waste removal companies or customers.Manage warehouse team including recruitment, training need assessment, skill development, disciplinary actions, performance evaluation, shift handover etc.
  • Set-up and implement processes and standards for the logistics and ensure they are followed, as well related to the ERP system.
  • Coordinating the correct and desired time of shipments, ensuring that warehouse stocks are complete and accurate and ensure accurate inventory at all times.
  • Ensure the proper execution of works such as unloading of raw materials etc. coming from outside and control their waybills or declarations.
  • Ensure the proper placement and addressing of products coming from the production into the warehouse area
  • Ensure safe work conditions and a clean warehouse and a proper housekeeping.
  • Ensure that the equipment used in the warehouse (forklift etc.) is safe and operational, manage the organization for repair works on forklift etc.
  • Ensure proper side stream and refuse handling and pick-ups from site, align with the production.
  • Prepare reports of stock levels etc. for Management
  • Establish internal procedures for 5S, Health & Safety; take ownership and ensure continuous compliance by being a role model of the company, falling inline with their company values & culture.
